This is a charity we have set up to raise money for the babies and families at the University of Virginia Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I am a sucker for high tech gadgets and good advertising. That’s probably why I got into graphic design. You can sell a product solely on the advertising campaign and how it portrays the product. When an advertisement popped up on my Facebook feed for a heart rate monitor built into a running hat, complete with phrases like:
- Smart hat
- Biometric Measurements
- Heart rate – aerospace level
- Calories consumption – aerospace level
- Cadence / steps measurement – aerospace level
How could I resist? If I’m going to take my running to the next level, it might as well be the aerospace level. (more…)

I like to find races that are unique. Like running on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, or a Ragnar Trail Relay Race. Something out of the ordinary. A friend sent me a link to a race on the runway of Dulles International Airport. How often do you actually get to set foot on the runway, let alone run a race on it. Count me in! (more…)
