Race Recap – 2016 Boston Marathon
Boston Marathon #2 is officially in the books. I finished the race in 3:11:11 and placed 3063 out of 26639 finishers. Not bad. I missed my goal of a sub-3 hour marathon, but my time should qualify me for the 2017 Boston Marathon, so I can give it another go. (more…)
2015 JFK 50 Mile Race Recap
On November 21, 2015, I ran my first Ultra. In runner-speak, an Ultra – short for ultramarathon – is a race longer than a marathon distance of 26.2 miles. I entered into this new echelon of distance running by completing the JFK 50 Mile Race in Boonsboro, Maryland. Looking back, I am happy that I completed the race. I have a great sense of accomplishment from conquering that distance and achieving a difficult goal. There were times during the race, though, when I questioned whether or not it was worth continuing on. (more…)
Race Recap: Dulles Airport 5k on the Runway
I like to find races that are unique. Like running on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, or a Ragnar Trail Relay Race. Something out of the ordinary. A friend sent me a link to a race on the runway of Dulles International Airport. How often do you actually get to set foot on the runway, let alone run a race on it. Count me in! (more…)

The First Annual Winchester Beer Mile. It went down New Years Day … but would it stay down?
I can’t think of a better way to ring in the New Year than running around a buddy’s yard chugging beer and barfing. Actually, I can, but I chose to partake in the First Annual Winchester Beer Mile. (more…)
